Terms of Use

The ground rules for using Veila. In short: it's a research tool, use it lawfully, and understand what it does and doesn't do.

Last updated July 25, 2026

By accessing Veila, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

What Veila is

Veila is a search engine that discovers, indexes, and describes onion services on the Tor network. It provides links and descriptions to help you find sites — it does not host the sites it lists, and it does not proxy, mirror, or serve their content. Following a search result takes you to a third-party service that Veila neither operates nor controls.

Research and educational use only

Veila is provided for research and educational purposes. You agree to use it lawfully and in compliance with the laws of your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for what you do with the information Veila surfaces, and for anything you access by following a result.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Veila takes no position on the sites it indexes and does not endorse them. Inclusion in the index is a statement that a site exists and is reachable — nothing more. See Safety for how we handle harmful content and removal requests.

No warranty

Veila is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. The index may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate; onion services change and disappear constantly. We don't guarantee that any listed site is available, safe, or lawful in your jurisdiction.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Veila and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service or from any third-party site you reach through it. Your use of Tor and of any onion service is entirely at your own risk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here, with an updated date above. Continuing to use Veila after a change means you accept the revised terms.
